The College of Charleston will be traveling to Gainesville, Fla., to compete in the 2014 NCAA Gainesville Regional. The Cougars face host Florida in Friday's opening game.

Freshman right-hander Tyler Thornton threw eight shutout innings as second-seeded College of Charleston captured the 2014 CAA Baseball Championship with a 6-4 victory over #1 William & Mary.
